Josh Gordon's training roots

Prior to beginning his sales career, Josh Gordon was an independent producer of training and informational programs. He produced programs for Polaroid Corporation, The American Management Associations, The US Navy, the Social Security Administration, Litton Sweda International, and Data Terminal Systems.

In 1979, at the age of 28, (shown here with with his staff) he attracted national attention while producing a series of 27 presentations for the U.S. Census Bureau that trained the 600,000 census workers who took the 1980 Decennial Census.
It was the first time AV technology had been used for this function, and the first time it had been used on such a vast scale. The February 1980 issue of Training magazine, which interviewed Gordon, described the project as, "…probably the largest civilian training program undertaken by anyone at anytime."
